Purpose of InnerMission

What you can expect from InnerMission

To provide an atmosphere of love, acceptance, hope, purpose and honesty for those who are searching, hurting, abused, bound up and in need of emotional and spiritual healing. (Isaiah 61:1-4)
To communicate the Gospel message in a culturally relevant manner and reveal our total and utter dependence on Jesus as the only source of true healing, happiness, fulfillment and power to establish His kingdom in our hearts and in our city. (John 14:6; Matt. 19:26)
To promote family, relationship, accountability, servanthood, prayer and evangelism as the major practical components of His method for transforming our lives. (1 Peter 4:8-10)
To walk in the Light and model a lifestyle of openness, unity, community and humility, believing that these attitudes lead us to fullness, overflow and a desire to seek and save the lost. (1 John 1:7; Rom 12:9-21; Phil 2:1-8; Eph 4:13; 2 Cor 9:11-12; 2 Cor 4:15).
To assist people in identifying, developing and releasing their unique gifts, abilities and ministries to the church and the world. (Rom 12:4-8; 1 Cor 12:7; Matt 25:21).

Commitment to Jesus, Growing in His ways and His word as revealed in the Bible

TO BELIEVE every Christian should yearn for continual spiritual growth, evaluation and accountability. Every person should be able to see growth in their life as they choose to participate in the vision set forth by the Body. Therefore, discipleship though consistent gathering, small groups, accountability, counseling, worship and evangelism and servanthood is critical to maturing in our faith. (Mark 12:29-31; Acts 2:44-47; Pt 2:2; 1 Tim 4:7, 8; Prov 27:17).

Commitment to His Body

TO BELIEVE that genuine love and caring relationships are the key to becoming who we’re supposed to be. We refuse to give audience to self-pity, negativity, complaining or gossiping. We will instead be courageous in solving every problem by the direction of the Holy Spirit and in a way that honors God and builds character. We value healthy relationships by protecting the unity of the Spirit in our church. (Jms 1:2,3; 1 Pt 8:8, 9; 1 Cor 13:8, Rom 16:17; Eph 4:3).

Commitment to discovering, developing, and practicing our gifts through serving

TO BELIEVE that every member is a minister who has been given gifts to be discovered, developed, and released. We are not a church based on weekly lectures. Each believer will find his greatest joy and fulfillment when serving in his spiritual gifts and passion. Every believer is created for ministry, gifted for ministry, authorized for ministry, and needed for ministry. (Mark 10:45; Eph 2:10; Rom 12; 1 Cor 12:14-20).

Commitment to Sharing your Faith

TO BELIEVE that every person, Christian and non-Christian alike, is valuable to God and to His Kingdom. Because people are eternally valuable to God, they are to us as well. Effective evalgelism and ongoing discipleship will always be my reason for being here. (Matt 18:14, 25:24; Pet 3:9).
